2020 Marginal & Effective Tax Rate Graphs

Here are the updated tax rate graphs for 2020. This year, in addition to married filing jointly (MFJ), I have included graphs for single / head of household (HOH). I have also made graphs combining all 3 (single / head of household / married filing jointly). Married filing separately is taxed exactly the same as single. Different graphs are made for different income levels from (1) up to $150k or $200k, (2) up to $500k, (3) up to $1M, and (4) up to $2M.

Up to $150k, Single & Head of Household
Up to $150k, any filing status
For MFJ, I decided to go up to $200k (instead of $150k) to match the 2018 version, and also to include a bit of the 24% bracket.
Up to $500k, Single & Head of Household
Up to $500k, Married Filing Jointly
Up to $500k, any filing status
Up to $1M, Single & Head of Household
Up to $1M, Married Filing Jointly
Up to $1M, any filing status
This is a different version of the same $1M graph using a lighter background. I couldn’t decide which I liked better, so they are both here.
Up to $2M, Single & Head of Household
Up to $2M, Married Filing Jointly
Up to $2M, any filing status
